The National Audit Office this week marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment as the Supreme Audit Institution in Kosovo.
On this occasion will be developed the following activities:

Submission of the Annual Audit Plan for the audit season 2018/19, and the Strategic Plan of NAO 2018-2021.

The Auditor General of Kosovo, Mr Besnik Osmani, is honoured upon this occasion to receive senior representatives of Supreme Audit Institutions from: United States of America, European Court of Auditors, Albania, Sweden, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Wales, Czech Republic, Poland, Finland, Croatia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Macedonia and SIGMA, and senior officials of local institutions, important personalities from art and culture, and representatives of diplomatic missions in Kosovo.
The Office of the Auditor General (now the National Audit Office), as the Supreme Audit Institution in Kosovo was established by the United Nations Administration in 2002, while the first Auditor General of Kosovo, Mrs Inga Britt Ahlenius was appointed in 2003, when the institution was functionalised.
The Auditor General of the Republic of Kosovo is Mr Besnik Osmani, who was appointed by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo in March 2016, for a five year term.
The National Audit Office of Kosovo (NAO) fulfils its mandate and its constitutional and legal obligation, and annually compiles and submits to the Assembly and to audited entities over 100 regularity and performance audit reports; over 1000 audit recommendations, professional support and advice to all audited entities, to implement recommendations; all audit reports are made public.
Currently, NAO employed 160 employees, 130 of whom are from the audit staff.
