The Auditor General submitted in the Assembly the Strategic Plan 2018 -2021, and the Annual Audit Plan

The Auditor General Mr. Besnik Osmani, in a special meeting has handed over to Mr. Driton Selmanaj, Chairman of the Committee on Oversight of Public Finances, the Strategic Plan of the National Audit Office 2018 – 2021, and the Annual Audit Plan for the Audit Season 2018/2019.

The plan encompasses all audit activities of the audit season 2018/19, upon drafting of which have been taken into account: NAO Strategic Plan (2018-2021), fulfilment of constitutional and legal obligations for regularity audits, broadest coverage of performance audits based on assessment of importance, level of risk, and topicality of certain topics (matters), inclusion of a greater number of Publicly Owned Enterprises, and addressing of specific requirements of the Assembly and of other stakeholders, etc. Planning of these audits was done by taking into account human and financial resources available to NAO.

Audits shall be carried out in accordance with International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions (ISSAIs) based on universal values of ​​SAIs and NAO, such as independence, professionalism, integrity and transparency. All NAO reports are accessible to the public and published on NAO’s website.
