NAO becomes part of the INTOSAI Task Force for the inclusion of citizens and civil society in the audit processes

The INTOSAI Task Force for the inclusion of citizens and civil society in the audit processes has been joined by the National Audit Office of Kosovo. By being part of this Task Force, NAO will enrich the activities and give its contribution in the achievement of its objectives.

In a letter sent to the Auditor General of Kosovo, Vlora Spanca, by the Chairman of the INTOSAI Task Force for the inclusion of citizens and civil society in the audit processes, at the same time Auditor General of Peru, Nelson Shack Yalta, has welcomed the membership of NAO in this mechanism. He has reaffirmed his commitment to the activities, projects and initiatives that will be carried out, stating that with the inclusion of the NAO in this task force, extraordinary results to the benefit the supreme audit systems will be achieved.

Meanwhile, the Auditor General of Kosovo, Vlora Spanca extended her acknowledgment in the letter sent to the Chairman of this Task Force for the opportunity given to NAO give its contribution and prove that it is an additional source of support in the achievement of goals.

“We are honoured that NAO is now among the supreme audit institutions and is been given the opportunity to properly respond to challenges, expectations and risks. It will thus provide an independent and unbiased overview aimed at changes to the benefit of the public sector,” Mrs Spanca said in the letter.

The Task Force aims at identifying and sharing good practices for the inclusion of citizen and civil society in the work of the Supreme Audit Institutions (ISA), thus providing the public with the possibility of being more involved in the processes of National Audit Office. In addition, the Task Force initiates and develops initiatives, tools and approaches to support the implementation of such good practices as a means of promoting the SAIs values and benefits.
