Benefits and Methodologies of Real-Time Auditing – the pivotal topic of the meeting of Supreme Audit Institutions held in Rome
The Auditor General of Kosovo, Vlora Spanca, accompanied by the Deputy Auditor General, Bezad Halilaj and the Assistant Auditor General, Myrvete Gashi, participated in the EUROSAI SG1 Project Group’s kick-off meeting on the Benefits and Methodologies of real time audit, held on Thursday in Rome.
In his welcome speech, the President of the Italian Court of Audit, Guido Carlino, addressed the importance of real-time audits – especially in situations of emergency – as well as the increase in interest and the necessity for having these audits conducted by the Supreme Audit Institutions. Mr. Carlino acknowledged the contribution given by the SAIs representatives in this group, stating that future activities will serve to safeguard the real-time public finance use and management even more.
A more detailed presentation of the Project Group goals was made by the President of the Chamber for the Performance Audit on the Management of the State Administrations and Head of the International Affairs Office of the Corte dei conti, Mauro Orefice.
Meanwhile, an overview of the Real Time Audit in Italy was introduced by the President of Chamber – President of the Board for Real Time Audit of the Corte dei conti, Massimiliano Minerva.
Heads/representatives from the Supreme Audit Institutions from different countries also gave a contribution during the meeting and exchanged their experiences regarding the benefits and methodologies of real-time auditing.
Spanca and Carlino talk about the importance of inter-institutional cooperation
During the visit to Italy, the Auditor General, Vlora Spanca, was received in a special meeting by the President of the Italian Court of Audit, Guido Carlino, who expressed the readiness of his institution for inter-institutional cooperation through bilateral activities as well as within EUROSAI and INTOSAI.
Mrs. Spanca expressed her acknowledgment to her counterpart for the reception and welcomed the cooperation between the two institutions in areas of common interest. On this occasion, she emphasized the importance the bilateral cooperation with the Italian counterparts has when it comes to further building professional capacities of the audit staff of the NAO, as well as increasing the audits quality.
The Auditor General meets the Kosovo Ambassador to Italy
On Friday, the Auditor General, Vlora Spanca, also met with the Ambassador of Kosovo in Italy, Lendita Haxhitasimi, whom she informed about the audit work, challenges and results. On this occasion, the Ambassador Haxhitasimi expressed her gratitude to Mrs. Spanca for the visit and congratulated her for the work the National Audit Office has done so far, which contributes to the better public finance management in the state of Kosovo.
