The International Congress of Supreme Audit Institutions was held from November 7-11, 2022, in Rio de Janeiro, chaired by the Federal Court of Accounts – Brazil.
The National Audit Office of Kosovo was represented by Emine Fazliu, Assistant Auditor General and Qëndresa Mulaj, Head of Department for Communication and International Cooperation.
In the first plenary session the Congress has adopted important documents, including organisation’s rules and procedures, work reports, as well as INTOSAI 2023-2028 Strategic Plan.
The following workshops have addressed two topics of particular importance of public audit, such as: “The work of Supreme Audit Institutions in the face of public calamities” and “Global voice, global outcome, and far-reaching impact”.
The KNAO delegation has met colleagues and partners from other SAIs within the Congress, where they discussed about public audit issues, experiences and possible solutions, in order to implement audit standards and increase cooperation.
The Congress is expected to adopt the Rio Declaration as well as elect new members of the Steering Board and appoint external auditors to audit the organisation.
The Congress is the highest body of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).
