For the purpose of strengthening the rule of law in the Republic of Kosovo as well as in accordance with international standards and best practices, the Acting Chief State Prosecutor, Besim Kelmendi, and the Auditor General of Kosovo, Vlora Spanca, signed a cooperation agreement. The signing ceremony was also attended by the representatives of the OPDAT Office of the American Embassy in Kosovo.
The agreement between the State Prosecutor and the National Audit Office sets forth the way of cooperation and coordination of the inter-institutional activities and standard procedures for exchanging the information on those cases identified during the audit engagements, which according to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo constitute criminal offenses, and reported to the State Prosecutor by the National Audit Office according to the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Both parties committed to develop the ways for communicating and exchanging the information, which is necessary for the most efficient implementation of this agreement.
